What is an EICR?
The easiest way to explain what an EICR is to think of it as an MOT on your property’s electrics. It’s essentially an in-depth test on all the electrics in your properties and looks at potential risks and hazards. Although it may not be as often as an MOT on your car, It is a legal requirement to renew your EICR every five years if you’re renting your property out.

What happens if something isn’t quite right?

To make it easier for people to understand the test is graded using codes. So, for example if a code C1 or 2 is flagged up, this will mean action to fix the issue is required urgently.
